It takes teamwork to run a grocery store. Like any team, there need to be enough people on hand for the team to do its best. When stores are staffed adequately, customers don’t spend as much time waiting in line, shelves are fully stocked, and an experienced team of grocery professionals can provide top-notch customer service.
Kroger is the most successful grocery chain in the country. It’s time to share that success with the people who make Kroger successful in the first place. Better wages, better benefits, and better schedules that give hardworking men and women control over their lives would make Kroger a better place to earn a living.
Your career should have a future. If you want to work full-time, you should be able to. But too many West Virginians are not given the opportunity. We need careers in West Virginia, not part-time jobs that families can’t depend on. Even though it is one of the top ten employers in West Virginia, many hardworking men and women at Kroger are getting too few hours to get by. Many associates simply don’t see a future for themselves. It’s time for Kroger to give people a reason to stick around – and that means better opportunities to put in a hard day’s work.
